About the Foundation

Global Foundation for kids (GFK) is a non-profit organization that is focused on proving charitable services to the rural and sub-urban areas in Sierra Leone. GFK undertakes the complete care of orphans and less privileged children and mostly girls in Sierra Leone. These orphans are with foster care families that are most times relatives who can help provide the daily monitoring but lack the financial capabilities and resources to care for these kids.

GFK works with qualified and experienced social workers that can work with communities and the social welfare departments to bring on board orphans, less privileged and vulnerable children with these communities. GFK will then provide all necessary care like school fees, healthcare, counselling services food and we care for not only the children but their families as a holistic care process.

GFK is also embarking on school rehabilitation projects. Most of the schools in remote villages or rural areas are unhabitable and the children seat outside the school building to learn which creates lack of concentration and poor academic output. Rehabilitating these schools will provide a good and healthy learning environment for children.

GFK is also undertaking the construction of new school buildings in areas that have no access to schools due to their non-motorable roads. Partnering with the communities and proving access to school for their children will help build the academic structure in these communities.

GFK will also be proving micro-credit for women, fighting early girl child marriages, building little clinics in communities, and supporting rural farming and school feeding programs.
